HALLOWEEN IS RAPIDLY APPROACHING

So I just realized that Halloween is on Saturday. ?! Thank goodness I have all costumes in order, but have yet to stab a pumpkin. After 3 trips to the pumpkin patch this year, we certainly have plenty sitting on the front porch.

With the Holiday Bazaar on the 7th, I've been a busy bee at the sewing machine, cranking out all things saleable. But time to re-shift gears and focus on the week ahead!

I'm actually as excited as the kids this year for Halloween...I get to dress up too. Can you say Gaga? Lady Gaga that is. Daddy will be a Doctor administering H1N1, Sis will be a Siamese Cat and Buddy a Yard Gnome. (Some say cruel, but he certainly doesn't care and there are only so many years I get to choose...)

We made a family trip to the local pumpkin patch early in the month (on the 8th) and got to enjoy the benefits of beating the rush. We ventured out on a spur of the moment afternoon after naps and not only got a beautiful sunny day, but ended up being the only ones at the pumpkin patch. I loved it so much that it completely made my pumpkin patch experience. We were all relaxed and got to take our time. The kids got special treatment and extra time in the bounce house. In my opinion, there is no reason to do it any differently in the years to come. One hundred pounds of pumpkins later...

I'm torn about the pumpkin carving event with the kids. I know they'll want to be waist deep in the guts of the pumpkins, but it's so messy and time consuming that I'm entertaining the thought of doing them after they sleep. On the other hand, what is Halloween without pumpkin carving? Daughter can certainly help strain and wash the seeds and Buddy will no doubt get his hands in the fleshy membranes too.

Ok, so I'm talking myself into it. There will certainly be some entertainment regarding this project. Now if I can just let go of the ideas about keeping the house clean.
