FROM ZERO TO SOCCER MOM IN ONE DAY

In an effort to burn dear Daughter's never-ending amounts of energy, I have been taking advice from nearly anyone who will offer it. From teachers to doctors, friends to family, I have gotten quite an appreciated earful. Consensus says, keep her busy, keep her challenged.

All costs aside (and they are significant), this is a difficult task and truly a delicate balance. On the words of her preschool teacher, she needs more activity. So I signed her up for not only indoor soccer, but also a sports skills class at our local Little Gym. (While we were there, we signed her up for Summer and Fall gym programs too.) On the words of our pediatrician, I have her in preschool one day a week with an optional drop-in program to eat up an additional day of the week.

My current weekly schedule highly revolves around keeping my daughter so busy, that she has no time to defy me. All of our heads seem to be spinning a bit as we are trooping in and out of our front door with different morning plans. Is this okay? I feel conflicted over the amount of activity we are presenting her with. I can't decide if it just feels busy at the moment since we went from 0 to 60 overnight, or if we are indeed overdoing it in an attempt to do the right thing.

Don't even get me started on the guilt I am blessed with regarding the fact that my son has zero planned activities on the calendar. Sigh...subject for another day.

I think only time will tell if Daughter is overexerted or if she is adjusting alright. Then the next questions...am I overexerted? Am I adjusting alright?
