Who says a crush has to be on a person? I just ran across an awesome look, idea, trend, whatever you want to call it, in a fashion mag. It's basically a leather, suede, fabric add-on for your heels that totally transforms the look of the pump into a bootie, boot, strappy confection, skies-the-limit style. Imagine my surprise when I was surfing etsy (so dangerous) and ran across the look at a fraction of the price. They're called 'spats' and can completely update traditional style shoes for around $40-$60. With the trend crazes these days barely lasting a season, it makes so much more sense to buy something like this than investing $100 (or more, ahem) on a new pair of shoes. Oh, and of course, this is hardly a new idea...think Victorian for the original concept.
I'm totally smitten and just might try my hand at making some. Of course I will.
