Who wouldn't love to be surrounded by the frothy, feathered, colorful and texturally pleasing fabrics of 'dress-up'? Brother was instantly drawn to the play clothes and plopped himself smack-dab in the middle of it. Sister was a good sport - until he found special interest in her shiny blue necklace. Am I worried? Hardly. The necklace was blue.
There is so much hype about gender-biased toys and clothes and it really kind of irks me. I get allowing them to experience new toys and whatnot, but I'm also talking about the playground set. I'm not buying him a princess doll and won't be buying her a light saber. Boys are boys. Girls are girls. Let them be. Wondering what kind of comments this will bring...?
