NO RESPONSIBILITY

It's no secret that parenting is hard work. And then you realize the load of responsibility and it can make your head spin. Perhaps why so many of us have a list of pretty great wines engraved on our brains.

But every once in a while, the stars align and us mamas can catch a break - for a weekend getaway. I don't, for a second, take for granted the support of Husband in these getaway ventures. (Not to mention the fact that he has a mandatory man's weekend himself.) My weekend's responsibility was limited to when I needed to turn on my chaise lounge and staying hydrated.

A handful of friends and I enjoyed some heat and sunshine while poolside in Eastern WA. The company was engaging, the food fantastic and the scenery breathtaking. Two nights was not enough.


I've returned from this past weekends' trip with quite a full report of what I missed. Or, more accurately, didn't miss. The furnace went out, my son fell head first down our stairs, and the kids got sick.

So, now I'm home and settling quickly back into my reality. Nothing says welcome home like two sick kids.
